This next week is a big week for us, as Philip will be returning to work and the babies will start at daycare. After much mind-changing on my part, we have settled on a Primrose that is within walking distance of the school where I work. It is small, SACS accredited, and several of my co-workers have children there. Plus, I like the people there, which means a lot. There was no flinching when I joked about coming to visit during my lunch hour.
The babies are growing remarkably fast. Seems like every new week brings new milestones. I am hoping they will take well to daycare, since they seem to be growing bored with us and with the house!
We have been working on stretching Maddy's neck muscles. Can't remember if we put this on a previous blog, but she has been diagnosed with torticolis. You can read up on it all over the web if you like, but basically just look at their Christmas pic and you can see her head turns to the right. Other than that, Maddy is great. For the most part, she is eating, sleeping, and playing like a champ. She isn't talking as much, but we expect this to be a phase.
Gabe has had some trouble, er, moving things through. Philip gave him prune juice and that worked just fine. But now it's back to the same old same old. Poor kid. He is eating and playing with gusto, but his sleeping is not so great. We are working on that. Got both cribs set up (shout out to Granny), but Gabe seems to wake up a lot during the night. I would love to put rice in his nighttime feedings, but the doc says wait til 6 months. Ugh. Meanwhile, the reflux med seems to be helping, along with mylicon at night.
Both these babies are very… active. When I took them to work with me about a month ago, people seemed very amused by all their movement. For better or for worse, they are movers and shakers. Sometimes they get so excited they just shiver. It's really cute.
So, wish us luck this week! Here's hoping the folks at Primrose will wear them out!
So...do they need new school clothes?? :) I think a couple of YO Gabba Gabba t-shirts are in order...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear how it goes at daycare. And Will can relate to Gabe. To this day he eats prunes at lunch every day. That's because we gave him a suppository when he was about six months old and it was TERRIBLE! Not only was he in pain (and therefore so were we), but it didn't even work. The prunes came to the rescue then and have every day since :)
