Week 24 Words

Hey, baby fans! Where to start... Gabe got sick again. He's on ROUND TWO of antibiotics, which are killing his tummy. Sent him with Philip to the Doc with a yucky cough, and he got diagnosed with a really bad ear infection (they had to clean out the wax and i thank jesus i was far away being a school counselor) AND most probably bronchialitis. YUCK! Now he is on day 5 of his meds and much-improved, but for a minute there I thought we were all going to get sick again and I would have to get a stand-in for myself. A stronger, more patient person to play the role of Mama.

Last weekend, as you can tell by a couple of the pics, was beautiful! They love being outside, but they're not used to it. You can tell they were born on the heels of fall, because they are like little vampire babies and flinch at the slightest bit of sunlight. We must break them in!

This weekend Maddy and I took a field trip to Wal-mart, where I used the baby bjorn a co-worker gave me. Maddy loves Wal-mart. It wore her out! She was really trying hard to hold her head up there at the cash register. Which was actually kind of embarrassing.

Let's see, milestones... Maddy can roll from back to tummy and tummy to back. She can sit up for a little bit without help, which is exciting. And she is so smart. It's crazy how fast she figures things out. Gabe can do most of those things, but like most boys is a little behind his sister. Plus, he's at a disadvantage because of his absurdly huge cranium.

Their 6-month visit is next week! Can you believe it? They'll be crawling before we can say, "don't touch that." They're already into their 6 month clothes, and we are preparing to give them SOLIDS! We plan on putting together the high chairs next weekend.

Oh, did I mention Ms. Eliana at Primrose left? She did. That was a sad day indeed. A lot of hand-holding, if you catch my drift. But now we have Ms. Amy, who is fabulous and already has Maddy down to one long nap a day.

The big news, as you will see from the videos, is that they really love each other. Gabe has been staying home sick, and Maddy has been going on to daycare, so they haven't been around each other as much. The other day we put them down together on the bed (told the germs to stay in their respective corners, of course) and it was Lovefest 2009, with lots of laughing and touching.

So, yeah, look for lots of dirty baby-food covered faces in the pics to come! Wheeeee!
