Sorry for this being the first post in a while.
In a nutshell, our computer was down, but now it is back up.
I'll post some pics and vids, but first some news.
We ferberized the babies! They are now falling asleep unswaddled in their cribs, and sleeping better and longer, as are we. Philip researched and executed out our sleep revolution, so he will tell more in an upcoming blog.
Both are crawling and cruising and just around the corner from walking. Right on track, as they approach 11 months. They are eating all sorts of things. In fact, Maddy tried to eat a dead fly yesterday. More appropriately, they eat lots of tofu, eggs, and cheese. Maddy likes those, Gabe is learning to. He loves all things bread-y and sugar-y. He will kick you in the face over a graham cracker.
We tried to wean them from bottles, but they protested and I wimped out. I'll try again soon. They still use pacifiers, but only for sleep.
Let's see... Maddy is into puppets lately, and she loves looking at pics. I'm thinking of creating a photo album of relatives (we have a "who loves you" book that just needs pics), so if you want to send a pic of yourself that would be great. They are really into books right now. Just ask Miss Christy.
Maddy can say "ball" and some version of "meow." Gabe claps his hands and says "yay" in a really low, unenthusiastic voice which makes for a good laugh. They can say Dada and Mama, but we suspect they don't attach meaning to those words just yet. Both of them have their first couple of teeth, too, on the bottom.
We had a great summer. The trip was wonderful, of course. We played with lots of new friends, swam, went for walks and drives through the city. We even went to story time at the library once. And we took field trips to Walmart almost every day. No joke, our favorite greeter knows our names. We also really enjoyed visits from Mimi and Papa Tom, as well as Christy.
And now it's back to reality. I have returned to work and the babies to daycare.
Any ideas for their first birthday? Any chance of you stopping by? :)
